Biography
Alexander Morris is a painter who works in hand-made acrylic, charcoal and ink. He resides in Rumford, RI with his wife and two girls.
Mr. Morris has an extensive history showing at various galleries and exhibition spaces. He is represented by Graham Gallery of Bristol, RI and Dryden Gallery of Providence, RI and is frequently invited to participate in other assorted exhibitions in the US such as the Spring Salon at Springville Museum of Art.
His presence on the east coast includes exhibiting in and around New England, including the National Art League in New York and West Hartford Art League in Connecticut. Notably, the gallery director of AS220 invited Mr. Morris to exhibit at its main gallery in Providence. Moreover, Mr. Morris was honored to be one of eight artists featured at Attleboro Arts Museum’s elite 8 Visions exhibition in Massachusetts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Morris’s work has received awards including Best Abstract at Attleboro Arts Museum’s member exhibit (Massachusetts) and Third Place at Art League RI’s Below the Surface II exhibit. Additionally, Mr. Morris has been highlighted in a variety of press articles and reviews.
Mr. Morris graduated from the University of Utah with a BFA, emphasis in drawing and painting, and was a recipient of the Howard Clark Scholarship.
